Acquisition of Bernville Quality Fuels & Berks Gas

Taunton, MA April 21, 2009 - We are pleased to announce that Bernville Quality Fuels and Berks Gas have joined the EnergyUSA Propane family of companies!  They are both located in Reading, PA.  The companies’ operations encompass several counties in eastern PA and intersect with Allied Propane.  They currently sell approximately 2.6 million retail gallons of propane and 6.5 million gallons of distillates annually to approximately 10, 143 residential and commercial customers.  Of those customers, approximately 43.8% or 4,446 use propane and approximately 56.2% or 5,697 use distillates. 

Service and installation of all types of heating and water heating products are also provided.  Ken Schlegel, a former partner, will be managing this division.  Currently, the two company’s employ 46 employees – 16 full time bulk and cylinder delivery drivers, and 7 customer service representatives; the service and installation crew consists of an installation manager, service manager, mechanic, 2 fuel oil/LP technicians as well as 11 fuel oil technicians.  There also are two account representatives for the division, one controller, and one operations manager, along with several part-time/seasonal employees.
