In Case Of Emergency . . .

Although the flammability of propane is less than that of other fuels, it's best to be cautious should you smell gas. Here are the appropriate steps:

  • If you feel you're in danger, contact emergency services at 911 and evacuate the area immediately.
  • If you smell gas, call us at 1-800-822-1300, option 9. The odorant added to propane smells like rotten eggs.
  • If the gas leak is inside, do not turn on or off any light switches or electrical appliances. Open doors and windows to allow fresh air into the building, then leave the building.
  • Turn off your propane tank by lifting the hood and turning the valve clockwise.

If you feel you’re in danger,
CALL 911 and evacuate the area immediately.
