"Levi Robinson visited our home today and advised that our proposed location for the gas tanks was not acceptable because of the proximity to the two windows in the garage, both of which have sills that would be below the tops of the tanks. There is only about 10 feet of wall between the two windows.
His suggested alternate would seem to be a very good idea and should save us some cost and installation time. The tanks would be located on the back of the garage around the corner from the previous spot that you and I had selected. The gas line would be run higher pressure, underground to a regulator station located outside, just beyond the cellar window (on the outside, and just about where the radon vent stack is on the inside). This would mean that the internal low pressure gas piping would be less than 6' in length, going from the regulator station on the outside to the boiler inside. I shall hand dig the trench for the underground line and have it installed before Sept 1, well ahead of the anticipated need. This eliminates anything internal in the garage and $implifies the $ystem $ignificantly. I have signed a gas supply contract with Energy USA Propane, so I believe we are just about ready to go as soon as you can let us know the full impact of the changes agreed to from the original proposal.
Debbie and I have also discussed future possible propane gas devices (space heater for basement, gas fireplace insert) which are ok from the gas supply perspective. We would like to have the low pressure gas line have several unused tie in points for this future additional work.
